Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon red gel food coloring

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup Nutella (or other hazelnut spread)


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting the edges overhang for easy lifting.

2. In a medium bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the sugar until fully combined.

3. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring to the butter mixture. Mix until smooth and evenly colored.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until no dry streaks remain. Do not overmix.

5. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of Nutella on top and swirl gently with a knife. Repeat with the remaining batter and more Nutella swirls.

6. Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

7. Let brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper and cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Do not overbake! The brownies should still have a few moist crumbs on the tester.

Use gel food coloring to maintain a thick batter and deep red color.

Swirl Nutella gently to create a beautiful marbled look—don’t overmix.
