Description

Creamy, cheesy, and packed with rich flavors, this Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole is a comforting twist on the classic French dish. Instead of rolling chicken with ham and cheese, this recipe layers everything into a warm, bubbly casserole. The tender chicken, smoky ham, and melted Swiss cheese are enveloped in a creamy Dijon sauce, then topped with crispy breadcrumbs for a golden crunch. Perfect for busy weeknights or special gatherings, this dish is sure to impress!

Ingredients

3 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed

1 ½ cups diced ham

2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup milk

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon paprika

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer Ingredients – Spread the cooked chicken evenly across the bottom of the dish, followed by the diced ham.
  3. Prepare Sauce – In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Pour the mixture over the chicken and ham.
  4. Add Cheese – Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Make Topping – In a small bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until combined, then sprinkle over the casserole.
  6. Bake – Place in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly. For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
  7. Garnish & Serve – Let the casserole rest for a few minutes, then sprinkle fresh parsley on top and serve warm.
