Ingredients
12 squares puff pastry (thawed)
12 maraschino cherries
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Roll out puff pastry slightly on a floured surface to increase surface area.
3. Cut into 2×2 inch squares.
4. Press each square gently into a mini muffin tin.
5. Place one maraschino cherry in the center of each square.
6. Optional: Brush edges of pastry with beaten egg for golden color.
7. Bake for 13–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
8. Remove and let cool in pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
9. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
10. Drizzle glaze over each cooled cherry bite before serving.
Notes
For crispier results, bake on the lower rack to help the bottoms brown.
You can use cherry pie filling instead of whole cherries if you prefer more filling per bite.
Let the bites cool slightly before glazing to avoid melting the icing.
