Description
These Caramel Apple Slices are a fun, bite-sized twist on the traditional caramel apple. Crisp tart apples are topped with silky caramel, drizzled with rich chocolate, and sprinkled with crunchy nuts. Perfect for fall parties, snacks, or festive treats, they’re easy to customize and even easier to love.
Ingredients
3 Granny Smith apples
1 tablespoon lemon juice
25 soft caramel candies (or 1 cup caramel sauce)
1 tablespoon heavy cream (if using caramels)
1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans or peanuts
Optional: sprinkles, crushed pretzels, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut
Instructions
1. Wash and dry the apples, then slice them into thick, even pieces. Remove any core or seeds. Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
3. In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel candies with cream (if using). Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
4. Spoon the melted caramel over the top of each apple slice, spreading gently.
5. Melt the chocolate chips using the same method. Drizzle the chocolate over the caramel-coated apple slices in a zig-zag pattern.
6. Sprinkle chopped nuts and any additional toppings on top while the caramel and chocolate are still warm.
7. Place the slices in the fridge for 10–15 minutes to set.
8. Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container layered with parchment for up to 2 days.
Notes
Let the caramel cool slightly before spreading so it doesn’t slide off the apples.
Press toppings in gently while warm so they stick well.
For extra crunch, refrigerate the apple slices for at least 30 minutes before serving.
