Description
This creamy and flavorful homemade ranch dressing is a total game-changer for salads, veggie platters, and dipping sauces. With a perfect balance of herbs, garlic, and tangy buttermilk, it’s fresher and tastier than anything store-bought. Bonus: it’s super easy to customize!
Ingredients
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3–1/2 cup buttermilk
1 clove garlic, finely grated
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice or white vinegar
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth.
2. Add the grated garlic, dill, chives, parsley, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
3. Slowly whisk in buttermilk, starting with 1/3 cup and adding more to reach your desired consistency.
4. Stir in the lemon juice or white vinegar. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
5. Transfer the dressing to a jar or container with a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
For a thicker dip-style ranch, reduce the buttermilk to 1/4 cup.
Always chill before serving—this lets the herbs infuse the base for maximum flavor.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge and use within one week.
