Description
A cheesy, zesty, and crowd-pleasing casserole that combines seasoned ground beef, layers of nacho cheese Doritos, and creamy goodness into one baked dish. Perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or when you’re craving bold comfort food.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
3 cups nacho cheese Doritos, slightly crushed
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 cup salsa
1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional, for topping)
1/4 cup fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
3. Stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer for 2 minutes.
4. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and salsa until well blended.
5. Layer 1/2 of the crushed Doritos in the bottom of the baking dish.
6. Top with half the beef, half the creamy mixture, and half the shredded cheese.
7. Repeat the layers: remaining Doritos, beef, creamy mixture, and cheese.
8. Sprinkle a few extra Doritos on top for crunch.
9. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
10. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
11. Let cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with diced tomatoes and fresh cilantro if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
For extra crunch, add fresh Doritos just before serving.
Swap cream of mushroom with cream of chicken for a different flavor twist.
Use hot salsa and spicy taco seasoning for a fiery version of this dish.
